For girls with lob or bob hair....!

Isn't it kinda difficult to style your hair with this length? 

For about 10 years.....

I had super long hair below my chest and it was kinda easy to style it as long as you don't have any problem braiding. 

And a couple of months ago, I just got it....

chopped into lob like this.

At the time, I didn't think much about when I wear a kimono. 

I just like having hair around my face line but this is kind of too long to show my neckline when I'm in a kimono.

So yes, I need to learn some easy updos for my hair now.

For the photoshoot we had the other day, I just needed my hair to look nice...

So yes, I tried this 3 layered updo.

STYLE ①

so here is my terrible drawing..... LOL

Blue line is an elastic band and red is pins.

Basically it is just 3 layers of topsytails.

But for the middle and bottom layers, the ends of topsytails are hidden and pinned.

This is how it looks like with long hair.

For short hair, the finished look is much smaller than this.

Style ②

For the previous look.

From the top:

Pompadour, topsytail, topsytail and topsytail with the end hidden.

I think it is very possible to add some braids to these styles as well.

Updo is possible for lob and bob hair for formal occasions!

For my visit to Japaran POP UP store, I just wore one of their beautiful headbands on the updo.

Nothing new and challenging but simple. 

This is another easy updo you can do with two dutch braids I wore for the previous kimono look this month.

For the details of my kimono look in viridian green, jump HERE to read my previous post.

I have short bangs which are hard to be braided, so I just twisted and pinned it at the crown of my head.

Separate the hair into two equal sections and braid them into dutch braids. 

Massage and pull out each braid to make it look more voluminous. 

double circle with the two braids at the nape of neck.

Like this.

And pin them. This should look asymmetrical.

DONE :)

After coming home, I just needed to have grocery shopping done in my jeans and t-shirt. 

So I just released both braids and tied like this. It looks good with the waves from braids.

The first summary blog on hairdos for this year.

I didn't do many new looks this year but tried making a couple of tutorial blogs.

Since I had bangs through out the year, it felt much easier to set up my hair.

Let me share the loose updo with easy three steps I tried for the night at Park Hyatt last week.

I had super long hair but recently had it cut, so my hair is about 2-3 inches longer from my collar bones.

Here are my poor drawings of three steps. Hope these help! lol

1) Gather all the hair above your ears to make a small ponytail. Split the hair above the elastic band and flip the tail through it from outside to inside. Pull the hair at your crown to give it some volume on top.

2) Split the rest of hair including the flipped tail into two equal sections and braid them into fishtails. Stretch and massage each fishtail to give it volume and make it look bigger.

3) Cross both fishtails and pin them just below the flipped tail to hide the elastic band.

And your done!

If you are not used to fishtail braids, you can just do the normal 3 strands braid instead.
