::Hairdo with a Hat::

日本語ver. HERE

I always wanted to try wearing a kimono with a hat but I hardly wear a hat everyday so didn't know exactly what to do with my super long hair.

For my Kimono Rock day, I got really lazy to do my hair so decided to do just a simple fishtail braid on the side. While doing that, I hit upon a good idea of making the braid into a messy bun and wear a hat :)

Click HERE for the photos of this look.

To make the braided bun look messy, you pull out the sides of the bun and stretch it.

When you create a fishtail braid on the side, tie the base of the braid loosely with an elastic so that the other side won't look too tight.

Just curl small sections of hair around your face and it's done!
The bun doesn't have to be made of a fishtail, you can do any bun that you'd prefer.

This looks really good with a turtle neck or whenever you wear a scarf around your neck as well.

::MJ Inspired Look::

日本語ver. HERE

A tribute look for Michael Jackson.
Well, actually that was not what I was aiming for. But I put up some picture on Facebook a couple of days ago, and someone commented that it looks like it was inspired by MJ.

I was going to shop at the event called "Kimono Rock" with my friend in Harajuku area last weekend, so I gathered the total look based on the theme "Rock".

The kimono I picked this time is the one I wore about a year ago in Kyoto.

The post about my trip to Kyoto is HERE

The event was produced by the modern kimono brand "Rumi Rock" so I paired the kimono with this obi made by them.

Mish mash tie :)

At the event, I finally got to try on their original kimono coat.
It's really light and made of fake fur which makes it much easier to take care of.

My friend wore a jersey kimono from Jotaro Saito
I'm also a fan of his creations. It looked really comfortable since the textile is stretchy.

We met at a kimono event in summer this year and got along with each other soon :)
Having someone to talk to about what you love makes your life more fun!

::Holiday Party Look::

日本語ver. HERE

The weather got much cooler last weekend and the cities are in the holiday mood already.
I haven't planned anything special for Christmas this year, but I love to think about possible party looks out of my wardrobe.
While I was going through my closet, I found this amazing jumpsuit that I've never worn.
I think I bought it more than a half year ago, but didn't get a chance to wear it.

Jumpsuit : The Fifth Label

With my PLST hat and Alexander Wang clutch.

and thigh high boots.

To glam up the look, I added this beautiful fox fur tippet I got from Le Ciel Bleu

They have the same style in 3 different colors this year.

Got any plans for the holiday?

::French Updo::

日本語ver. HERE

Loose French Braid Updo.

For the post about the total look, come visit HERE

This hairdo works for those who with medium to long hair.
My hair is super long so it gives some volume around the nape of neck.

I posted on the same hairdo a while ago HERE

As long as you can create a french braid from the top to the end, flip and tuck the end under and pin it against the scalp. That's all you have to do.

::European Yellow::

日本語ver. HERE

Whenever I have time to spare, I love to spend the time thinking about various possible kimono looks out of my wardrobe.
I didn't have much to do last Saturday, so I decided to walk around the city in a kimono with European style pattern.

I call this kimono "pineapple kimono",
cause some parts of this pattern look like pineapples.

I wore the same kimono paring with a different obi in last March.
The post about the look is HERE

This time, I paired it with this obi.

The total look from behind.

I was going to shop around in Omotesando area but unfortunately, it started raining on the way there. And I wasn't carrying an umbrella....
So changed the plan and went to see the new Christmas lights inside Omotesando Hills and dropped by a cafe to have some coffee before going back home.

Wish the weather was nicer but I definitely was refreshed by wearing a kimono.

::Another Decade::

日本語ver. HERE

3 DECADES.
I am truly thankful for all the people I've met and events that I went through in my life.
And most of all, I feel like I am the luckiest to have such great parents who have been my parents for 30 years.

Although I wasn't planning anything special for my birthday,
I felt so blessed with all the birthday wishes and surprises I received from my friends.
Thank you all so much for being a part of my life :)

Do you mind if I brag a bit about the things I got???

The surprise dessert :)

Lovely gifts from my mother and friends.
They all know I'm a little alcoholic.

Beautiful ring from my bestie :)

Brand new silver headband that became my most favorite hair accessory :)
She told me "silver" is a lucky-color for next year!

And I spent last weekend in my hometown to get my mind refreshed
and..... to see this little one!!!!!

.Tada!!! Meawwwww :)
He's only 3 and a half months old.
I was dying to see him before he becomes full-grown.
He's sooooooo adorable and my camera roll was full of him when I came back to Tokyo.

He plays with full energy and sleeps like an angel.

My mother made an amazing cake.

and my friends and I shared it together.
It was so good that I couldn't help having almost 3 pieces.

It was such an amazing week.
My 20's was for searching for my passion, my dreams, and the way to accept and love my own life.
My 4th decade will be for making best shots to make my dreams come true and doing whatever I can do for my family and friends around me.

And yes, more and more passion for kimono and Japanese spirit that I have in my soul.

Thank you so much for reading.

xoxo with lots of LOVE,

Lynn♪
