Happy Kimono Photoshooting☆

Last year, KIMONO BIJIN got me a chance to be a part of Halloween Kimono Look show that took place at Ueno park during Tokyo Edo Week 2017.

Kimono girls showed off their own kimono styles on the stage and it was really nice to get to know each other through this event.
The post about this fashion show is HERE.

This is when I met Sheila Cliff, the author of "The Social Life of Kimono".
She's from England and currently teaches English and Kimono culture at a collage in Saitama.

After Tokyo Edo Week, she contacted me on instagram and invited me to be a part of her research project "箪笥びらき The Kimono Closet
She's been collecting interviews of 50 women from different generations and researching what kind of kimonos they own, how they were kept in modern houses, etc...

Sheila and her photographer, Todd, came over to my place the other day, and we had so much fun through the interview and taking some photos of the kimonos I own. It was so nice to get to know them♡

My story on "The Kimono Closet" will be up on their website, instagram or facebook later.
I will share their posts once they are posted.

After the interview and having a coffee break together, we went out to take some instagram photos by the river.

Here's one of the beautiful shots by Todd Fong♪

Isn't this so beautiful????

The color of my kimono totally matched with the yellow grass on the ground.

To invite my new friends over to my apartment for the first time, I chose to dress myself in warm colors, but still in a modern style.

My pineapple kimono♡

I always wanted to take some photos in front of this graphical art.
Thank you for the great opportunity and looking forward to seeing my story on your website, Sheila and Todd ♡

Here are my archive looks in the same kimono↓

::CHOKO KIMONO::

日本語ver. → こちら

My very first 【CHOKO x agris.】KIMONO!!!!

For the last couple of years, I have been thinking about getting one of kimonos CHOKO designs but I kept on putting it back every time I visit her shopping events for some reason.
But at "CHOKO's Closet" that they had at the end of last year, I finally met the one which caught my heart a minute after trying it on♡

Romantic Flower x Butterfly.

The textile is glittered jacquard and the base color is navy blue on the left half and the color is reversed on the other half.

Paired with CHOKO x agris. collaged obi.

Rumi Rock Bambi collar☆

Bag : Sophie Hulme
Ring : Agatha Paris

Zouri : Mamechiyo Modern

I'm so in love with this beautiful contrast of lime yellow and navy blue.
It's also made of polyester so it will be my favorite one to wear on rainy days♡

Here are two different archive looks
with the same CHOKO x agris obi♡↓

New Year Day Look 2018☆
My New Year break was peaceful and warm with my family.
Every year, my family gets up early and have special breakfast with a little sake to celebrate the New Year on Jan. 1st.
For our first visit to the shrine, I dressed myself in my favorite antique kimono.

My new year greeting photo I posted on Facebook and LINE timeline.
2018 is the year of dogs☆

This kimono is probably my most favorite antique kimono that I currently own.

The winter in my hometown is sooo cold I wanted to wear boots instead of just tabis (Japanese socks). Hakama also makes it easier and more comfortable for me to get in and out of the car so I brought my new one in ecru.

My mother also likes me in this kimono so it was nice visiting the shrine with her in this look☆

New Year dishes we eat on the first three days of a year.
I ate too much food during the break and gained some weight.... of course.

One of the favorite things about staying at my parents'.... ♡
They are the cutest little creatures....♪

On Jan. 2nd, we had a rice cake making party at our friend's house.
It was such a great way to start a new year.

We also did a New Year calligraphy session with my friends.
愛 "LOVE" by my mother.
義 "morality" by me.

I hadn't done calligraphy for years. It was nice to hold a brush and write down the words in my heart to renew my resolution.

HAPPY 2018☆
