::Inspirational Day::

日本語ver.→こちら

I got to see so many beautiful things last weekend.
Aguri Sagimori launched a new brand called "agris" and had the first exhibition of her Fall 2016 collection.
She also produces beautiful textiles and accessories in collaboration with CHOKO, a kimono creator. I bought one of her hair accessories in last January. HERE is the link to my shopping diary.

A quick lunch I had before my fashion adventure :)
With my favorite Saint Laurent bag and Citrus stole.

The exhibition was so inspirational.
The atmosphere was built upon a beautiful story based on birds' courtship dance.

Love love....!

The collection is now up on her brand site HERE.

After that, we headed to Yebisu to visit a new kimono shop  "Chihana" which was opened on that day.

Soft and smooth scarves which are hand-dyed by the designer himself.
Each one of them is unique and so beautiful.

Shoes (zouri) made with hand-dyed deerskin.

Textile made for obi.

The day of inspiration by great creators and by nature.

Thank you for reading.

::Dutch Snail Updo::

日本語ver. → こちら

Here is my second non-professional hairdo tutorial to share with you!
I call this look "Dutch Snail" myself cause the dutch braid looks like a snail when it's done.

I wore this updo for my museum day in this kimono.
Jump to this LINK to read the whole post about this look if you are interested.

Whoever has hair longer than the collarbone can re-create this look.
The shorter your hair is, the bun becomes smaller.

First, create a fat dutch braid from the top of your head to the end.
If you don't know how to do dutch braids, there are so many tutorials on YouTube that you can learn from.

Braid by cooperating all the hair into one strand.

After all of your hair are braided into one strand like this, keep on braiding to the end.

Yep.... my braid can be this long.... and tie it with an elastic band like so.

From the top to the end, stretch the braid to both sides to make it more voluminous.
If you have shorter hair, this is an important step to make the braid fuller and the bun bigger.

Create a bun by twisting the braid like a snail and pin it in place.

And it's done!

It looks differently from each side.

From behind.

RIGHT.

LEFT.

This updo is suited for party and/or romantic styles.
Add your favorite hair accessories as you like :)

Thank you for reading.

::Dizzy Blue::

日本語ver → こちら

Finally cherry blossoms started to bloom! It is about a week earlier than last year because this winter was warmer than usual.
A friend of mine invited me to go to the NACT (The National Art Center Tokyo) in Roppongi to see Issey Miyake's exhibition. He also wears kimono on daily basis and it was such a nice day out, so we both went there in kimono.

It was my first visit to the NACT and the building was so beautiful!!

Navy Blue Tiger Kimono :)

paired with this new obi with checkered pattern in silver/grey.

Hand drawn collar in black.
I love these vivid colors.

"Dizzy" scarf in between the kimono and the obi.

To look more suited for the museum visit, I tied the obi in the most basic way this time.
This tie is called "Otaiko".

The weather was warm enough not to wear a fluffy shawl.

Here are two different looks with the same kimono from my archives :)

My very first trip to Kyoto.
(Nov. 2014)

(Nov. 2015)

The exhibition was so amazing. The works of Issey Miyake are always unique and eye catching.
But at the same time, his creations show historical background. He uses many kinds of textiles that have been made and used for a long time in Japan as well.
There were a lot to learn from the exhibition.

We walked to Roppongi hills and found beautiful peach blossoms in bloom.
Spring is finally here.

Thank you for reading.
