::Kimono Show::

日本語ver. → こちら

A friend of mine from Kyoto kindly invited me to an amazing kimono show at Kimono Salone in Nihonbashi, Tokyo last weekend.
Yasuo Aono from Aono Koubou (青野工房) is one of the kimono artisans who creates modern and playful kimonos in the most graceful way. When I started wearing kimono a couple of years ago, I was net-surfing in search of great kimono artisans and found his collections which caught my eyes. I'm so honored to finally see his creations on runway.

Every piece was so beautiful that everyone can fall in love with.
Yasuo Aono himself is also a musician and the background music was all beatles :)

With the designer, Yasuo Aono.

After the show, my friends and I had fun seeing some workshops provided by kimono artisans.

Painting workshop.

Demonstration of how to make silk strings from cocoons.

My new friend from Saudi Arabia tried reeling silk off cocoons.

Beautiful kimono with gorgeous lilies displayed.

Actually it was my first time to visit Kimono Salone. It was so much fun learning about kimonos with my friends there.

Thank you for reading.

::Tweed by Sumire Ishioka::

日本語ver. → こちら

Been a while since I posted last! The weather was so glumpy during the whole month and so didn't get a chance to wear any kimono.
Maybe it is time to get a polyester kimono for rainy days?

Anyway, October is one of the most exciting months through a year because many exhibitions and presentations from my favorite kimono brands are held to start the kimono season (Oct.-May.)

One of the kimono artists, Sumire Ishioka, that I follow was having her very first presentation at Daikanyama last weekend. I was so excited to finally see her creations.

photo borrowed from Sumire Ishioka's facebook.

She makes beautiful kimonos with her original tweed fabric. She recently graduated from a kimono school and started off her brand by creating a tweed kimono art book last year.

In addition to her original tweed, she also buys some fabric used for CHANEL from Europe.
Aren't they so beautiful????
I tried on one of these kimonos and felt so comfortable in it.

Color samples.

Sumire Ishioka, the designer.

When she launched her art book, I went to see the exhibition but couldn't talk to her there.
It was so heartwarming that she remembered me there and finally we could talk to each other.
She is such a sweet woman that I really admire.

This vivid pink guy showed me his fur collection and he is super funny... LOL.
Blue fox snood was tempting to me though...

Theeeeese cute zouri!!! I love them so much.

Photo borrowed from her facebook feed.

I'm already looking forward to seeing her next season.

Check out her website or facebook to see the details of her creations!

Thank you for reading.

::Banner Barrett::

日本語ver. → こちら

Getting ready for autumn already??
I met someone who's working for the fashion brand "Banner Barrett" through my job last month, and got to visit their Fall/Winter 2016 exhibition at their show room.

Their show room is located in the chic and sophisticated area of Daikanyama.
Wisterias are already in bloom.

Lookbook of the new season.

I love the entrance of their show room.

The concept for their new season is "British Soul".
Chic styles for sophisticated girls.

I ordered this baby blue skirt :)

They also had a little eating space in front of the show room.
Fashion editors and buyers were having a garden party!

Sadly, I didn't have much time to stay and have lunch here....

I love the elegant atmosphere that they have here.

On the way back to the nearest station, I found a new Maison Kitsune shop :)
I hadn't explored this part of Daikanyama before. I should definitely come back here on weekends to find more cute shops and cafes around this area.

Thank you for reading.

::Inspirational Day::

日本語ver.→こちら

I got to see so many beautiful things last weekend.
Aguri Sagimori launched a new brand called "agris" and had the first exhibition of her Fall 2016 collection.
She also produces beautiful textiles and accessories in collaboration with CHOKO, a kimono creator. I bought one of her hair accessories in last January. HERE is the link to my shopping diary.

A quick lunch I had before my fashion adventure :)
With my favorite Saint Laurent bag and Citrus stole.

The exhibition was so inspirational.
The atmosphere was built upon a beautiful story based on birds' courtship dance.

Love love....!

The collection is now up on her brand site HERE.

After that, we headed to Yebisu to visit a new kimono shop  "Chihana" which was opened on that day.

Soft and smooth scarves which are hand-dyed by the designer himself.
Each one of them is unique and so beautiful.

Shoes (zouri) made with hand-dyed deerskin.

Textile made for obi.

The day of inspiration by great creators and by nature.

Thank you for reading.
