::First Look 2018::

日本語ver. → こちら

New Year Day Look 2018☆
My New Year break was peaceful and warm with my family.
Every year, my family gets up early and have special breakfast with a little sake to celebrate the New Year on Jan. 1st.
For our first visit to the shrine, I dressed myself in my favorite antique kimono.

My new year greeting photo I posted on Facebook and LINE timeline.
2018 is the year of dogs☆

This kimono is probably my most favorite antique kimono that I currently own.

The winter in my hometown is sooo cold I wanted to wear boots instead of just tabis (Japanese socks). Hakama also makes it easier and more comfortable for me to get in and out of the car so I brought my new one in ecru.

My mother also likes me in this kimono so it was nice visiting the shrine with her in this look☆

New Year dishes we eat on the first three days of a year.
I ate too much food during the break and gained some weight.... of course.

One of the favorite things about staying at my parents'.... ♡
They are the cutest little creatures....♪

On Jan. 2nd, we had a rice cake making party at our friend's house.
It was such a great way to start a new year.

We also did a New Year calligraphy session with my friends.
愛 "LOVE" by my mother.
義 "morality" by me.

I hadn't done calligraphy for years. It was nice to hold a brush and write down the words in my heart to renew my resolution.

HAPPY 2018☆

::New Year at Home::

日本語ver. → こちら

HAPPY NEW YEAR★Hope your 2017 will be amazing and full of love♡

I spent my New Year holiday at my parents house for 5 days.
The weather in my hometown was beautiful during my stay.

My friends who are also from my hometown gave me a ride from Tokyo. Thanks!

Reunited with the cutest little ones :)

Lucky and Miyako.
No need to say but... they conquer you with this cuteness.

On New Year's eve, I helped my mother cook Japanese traditional New Year dish "Osechi"(Wiki).

Steamed chicken rolls.

Simmered veggies and fish cakes. (Nishime)

Candied dried sardines. (Tatsukuri)

Each dish has a meaning, such as staying healthy, good harvest, happiness etc....
My mother is a good cook and make beautiful Osechi like this every year.
Everything goes well with sake. We love having some sparkling sake on New Year's day.

After celebrating the New Year with Osechi for breakfast, we visited the shrine to send some greetings.

My mother and I also climbed up the hill behind our house to visit the small shrine that she always visits every month.

This place used to be my playground for years when I was younger.

And it was my second time to spend the New Year's day in kimono.
The details on the look will be up here soon!

Yumyum!
Another Japanese traditional dish for celebration.

Morning cuddle with Miyako.

How was your New Year holiday?

::2014-2015 in LA::

日本語ver. HERE

I dropped by LA before coming back to Tokyo with my bestie.

We arrived at LAX airport around noon
so we headed to Santa Monica for lunch after checking into our hotel.

It was a cloudy day and colder than we thought.

We got a burger and a burrito at a diner for lunch.

Unfortunately it started raining later this day,
but we decided to go to Hollywood to visit the walk of fame.

Stevie Wonder.

Rain can't let me down :P
Well... to be honest, it did a little...

Because of the rain, it wasn't so fun to walk around outside to see all the stars.
So we got into Madame Tussauds to see wax figures of celebrities.

Lady Gaga

::OOTD::

<T-shirt> Hollywood Made
<Jeans> J-Brand
<Sneakers> ASH
<Stole> Balenciaga
<Bag> Alexander Wang

Had a chat with George Clooney.

Posed with Madonna

Tried to kiss the sexiest man (to me) in the world.

Hollywood legend, Marilyn Monroe.

The weather turned really nice on the next day, New Years Eve.
We spent the whole day walking around in Santa Monica on that day.

I saw so many duck people (people from Oregon who are in green and yellow)
in Santa Monica Place.
I heard they came to see a football game in Pasadena.

It felt like I was still in Portland... hahaha
Hope the ducks won the game!

After shopping, we went to see the ocean from Santa Monica Pier.
The sky was clear and it was nice to feel the fresh air there.

It was such a nice way to see the New Year in.
We were there for just a couple of days so didn't do much this time.
I wanna visit there sometime in spring or summer next time.

My friend flew back to Portland and I took a flight to Tokyo on the New Years day.
She has three more terms to go until she comes back to Tokyo!
Good luck and thank you for the quality time during my stay.
