::Strawberry Holiday::

日本語ver. → こちら

Christmas night 2019★
My partner and I had a wonderful and extraordinary night at Tokyo Prince Hotel with a gorgeous dinner show.

This big party is held every year on Christmas day. But it was our first time to attend this party. I was so excited for every detail of it.
Holiday decoration was so beautiful♡

For the 2nd luxurious Christmas party this year, I chose maybe the best antique kimono that I own in strawberry color.

Yellow flowers and strawberry diamonds◆

With checkered obi in silver.

Added little green earrings and obiage as hint of Christmas.

Played a bit with the obi on my back.

It was a windy and cold night so I wore my brand new kimono coat♡

TOTAL LOOK

The dinner was amazingly delicious with good wines.
After the dessert, we enjoyed a full stage of the "enka" legend.

There are only a few days left till the end of 2019.
I've been having the most exciting December that I've ever had so far.
Thank you so much for reading my kimono diary★
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year♪

See you in the new year, 2020♪

::Holiday Roses::

日本語ver. → こちら

Last month of year 2019★
A month in a holiday mood seems like to pass very quickly this year.
I have three big Christmas events planned and am so excited to experience a full month with extraordinary days.

One of them was a luxurious Christmas party held at Yokohama Royal Park hotel.
My partner and friends got dressed up and spent an awesome time together last weekend.

Right in front of the beautiful art piece at the lobby of the hotel.
My friend is peeking in the mirror. haha.

For this Christmas occasion, I finally wore this beautiful red kimono for the first time.

Black and red with roses.
I found this kimono at the second-hand store but it had tacking threads on the hems and looked like nobody wore it.
It is very hard to find a homongi with a modern design like this.
I think this kimono was made for a fashion show because the size was very big for a woman who's like 170cm tall. I had this kimono for a couple of years in my closet without wearing it for once because the size being too big for myself.

When I decided to attend to the Christmas party, I finally sent this kimono to the kimono tailor to resize it to my exact size and it came back to me in a perfect condition last month.

Paired with scales in black and silver.

Red of the kimono is very strong so I chose almost everything else in black except for the obiage in green.

And yes, this year, I got a brand new kimono coat!
It can be worn as a normal coat for western style looks.

Every time I go back to Nagano for the New Years, it is too cold to be outside just in kimono. In Tokyo, winter is warm enough to go out without anything over a kimono. But I really wanted a coat to beat the cold weather in my home town.

Last month, I went for a kimono shopping with my friend and I was talking to the designer about his coat I was debating whether or not to get. He happened to have only one left in stock and offered me with a very generous discount!!!
I'm so lucky and happy to finally have one in my wardrobe.

My friend joined me at the party in kimono as well.
I met her a couple years ago at a kimono event and that was the last time we were both in kimono together.
After a couple of years, we have so much time together sharing a lot of things other than kimono. I'm so thankful for having so many encounters through kimono.

And the dinner was gorgeous!
Couldn't be more grateful for my life with parties★

::Last Leaf::

日本語ver. → こちら

Before cities get a mood of holiday season, I have a couple of kimonos most suitable for this red leaf season.
I wanted to wear this kimono sometime before December comes.
My friend and I decided to go to a museum to see the art collection owned by the royal family of Liechtenstein.

Coffee break in a retro mood before meeting my friend.

One of few kimonos with seasonal motifs in my wardrobe.

Thought the collar in light pink may not go very well with orange and brown of the kimono, but it has small accents of hot pink and yellow that match with the total look★

Added some casual feel with gold/silver sparkle.

I tried new style this time.
This obi is really soft that usually worn casually but tying it this way makes the total look more sophisticated.

I always wanted to know how to create the style.
The kimono shop "Roccoya" had a tying lesson a couple of months ago, and I finally got to learn how to do it.

It got a bit asymmetrical but looked okay ;)

I was so happy that I got a chance to wear this kimono this year too.
Christmas and New Years are coming soon and we have more occasions to wear kimono. I'm so excited!!!

I'll be having a big Christmas party this weekend, so looking forward to wear the kimono which is brand new and just got resized for me this year.

Here are the other looks in the same kimono↓
