::Emerald::

日本語ver. → こちら

The end of summer 2016.
Lots of my great friends and I had a gorgeous party at Park Hyatt Tokyo.
The dress code was "semi-formal" so I chose to wear kimono.

The beautiful view of Tokyo from 39th floor of Park Hyatt,

The party was from 8 pm and it feels like autumn during the night so I chose to wear a hitoe kimono.

Emerald milky way :)

Paired the checkered obi in the lucky color of this year☆

Total look :)

Staircase by the ballroom where we had a party in.

Park Hyatt Tokyo is ranked as a 5 star hotel.
The full course dinner was so delicious.
I was so touched with the name card prepared for everyone's seat.

It was such a luxurious night.
So glad that I got to be a part of it.

Here is the dazzling look with the same kimono I did about a year ago for Vogue Fashion's Night Out in Omotesando.

(Sep. 2015)

It is a bit sad that summer is almost over.
But the best season for kimono is coming back again! :) :)

Thank you for reading.

::Local Specialties::

日本語ver. HERE

My trip to Nikko continues... The best part of this trip is just to relax and enjoy the hot springs and tasty dinner with the local specialties at hotel.
After seeing the huge waterfalls of Kegonnotaki, (link to the previous post HERE) we headed to our hotel around 3 pm.

Our room had a private bathtub at the balcony.

Since we left home super early in the morning to avoid the traffic, we just wanted to dive into the beds to take a nap for a while. The air was cooler than it is in Tokyo and it was so comfortable taking a nap with the windows open.

After spending a couple of hours like that, we changed into yukatas for dinner.

The prix-fixe dinner with the local specialties.

Organic salad with smoked salmon.

Sashimi (raw fish)

Beef steak.

Hot pot dish with pork, tofu, and veggies.

Bamboo shoot rice....

And dessert plate at the end :)

The breakfast on the next day was awesome, too.

Day 2 in Nikko started from this suspension bridge near the hotel we stayed at.

It was soooo shaky.....

We went down to the river and got on the boat!!

30 minutes of boat ride felt so good!

My trip in Nikko continues....

Thank you for reading.

::HOOTERS in Tokyo::

My very first time at HOOTERS!
They have 4 places in Tokyo and one in Osaka.
for details, click HERE

Hostess preparing seats for us.

It was just around quarter past 6 pm when we got there,
so there weren't so many people inside.

The waitress who serves your table leaves her signature :)
Our waitress for this time was Samantha.

Spinach salad with prawns
I love their honey mustard dressing.

Spicy fried chicken. Having ranch dressing with it feels I'm back in the states.

.
And yes.... HOOTERS dance in Japan!!!
I've never been to one in the states,
so I didn't realize this is only in Japan until a friend of mine in the states was surprised by it.

You can see their dance performance every hour here.

Last very fattening food of the night.
Texan burger with spiral fries.

And of course..... strawberry daiquiri has to come with it!

It was such a fun night.
We are planning on coming back here to watch a soccer game.

Thanks for reading!

::Dim Sum::

My food diary, April, 2015.
Nanxiang Mantou Dian (南翔饅頭店) is one of my favorite dim sum restaurants in Tokyo.
They are originally from Shanghai. I really want to visit there sometime.

They have really nice meat soup inside.

steamed vegetable buns.

Fried shrimp cakes and tofu spring rolls.

Noodle soup.
That's a lot of food! I couldn't finish it all.

Sweet bean pie and mango pudding for dessert.
The pie was freshly baked and it was soooo good!

On the other day, I had a chance to eat eggs benedict for lunch.
"Slappy Cakes" originates from Portland, Oregon, where I used to live years ago.

Look at those potato wedges!
I couldn't eat even a third of them.
But they are freshly fried and muffins are so soft.
I loved the whole plate :)

I got this vegetable benedict with two poached eggs.

For some reason, there are some newly opened restaurants and places in Tokyo
where they serve local specialties from Portland, Oregon.

They will open a first shop of Blue Star Donuts in Daikanyama, Tokyo this month.
I've been to one of their shops in Portland while I was there for new years →HERE

There is a pancake place also from Portland called "The Original Pancake House" in Harajuku
which is famous for their special pancake, "Dutch Baby".
I wanna go try it sometime soon.

So.... yes as you can see I love food,
and this is my food diary from these days.

Thank you for reading!
