::Color Splash::

日本語ver. → こちら

Almost forgot to share a beautiful little thing I got at Kimono Winter Shop last month.

Color splash collar designed by Sumire Ishioka, the designer of tweed kimonos.

Midnight sewing session on my bed.....
The collar is kind of hard to handle since it is stretchy...

Tada! Isn't this beautiful?
With this collar I wore....

Deep navy blue kimono paired with

Lacey collage obi.

Mish-mash tie.

Bag : Alexander Wang

This collar definitely becomes a statement when paired with simple kimono like this.
I'm so in love with it!

Since this is made of roughly woven lace, this must go well with summer kimono or yukata, too.

LOVE!!!!!

Here are 2 other looks I did before with the same kimono↓

::Rooms34::

日本語ver. → こちら

Here is my very first experience at a fashion exhibition, Rooms34
I have a friend who's been producing a Japanese bag brand and she invited me to see their booth.

This time, they had a little place called "rooms market" where you can buy some items or eat and drink some coffee.
There was a little space like a sunroom of my dream :) I wanna have something like this in the future .

The whole exhibit area was huge.
I spotted my friend's booth from above but the route was only one way and it took about 30 mins to get there.

Found some cute items though :)

They make original textiles for Men's kimono.
Girls kimonos can be made for orders as well. They don't use Japanese traditional patterns so their style is more popular among foreigners.

I saw many brands with African batik textiles.

Japanese traditional tableware with modern feelings.
These sake cups are cute :)

Kimonos by Junko Koshino

Look at these cute marking pins!
They are so tiny!

and.... My friend's brand "Japaran".
They mainly make clutch bags with the old obis that are no longer used.
As I collect antique and second-hand kimonos, I see many of these old fukuro obis for really cheap prices online. But these obis are usually worn only for formal occasions so there is not much demand for them. I love their concept of "Mottainai" and how they make these beautiful fabrics alive again in the modern style.

Head dresses and bow-ties are cute too :)

Love the fringes!

With the director and producer of Japaran.
Congratulations on making all this happen!

Follow their Instagram for more info!

It was such a great experience!
Thank you for inviting me.

::double circle::

日本語ver. → こちら

Nothing new and challenging but simple.
This is another easy updo you can do with two dutch braids I wore for the previous kimono look this month.

For the details of my kimono look in viridian green, jump HERE to read my previous post.

I have short bangs which are hard to be braided, so I just twisted and pinned it at the crown of my head.
Separate the hair into two equal sections and braid them into dutch braids.

Massage and pull out each braid to make it look more voluminous.

double circle with the two braids at the nape of neck.

Like this.
And pin them. This should look asymmetrical.

DONE :)

After coming home, I just needed to have grocery shopping done in my jeans and t-shirt.
So I just released both braids and tied like this. It looks good with the waves from braids.

Here is a similar look which requires only one dutch braid.
This post shows the how-to with many steps. Click the link below if you are interested.

::Viridian::

日本語ver. → こちら

The first weekend of February.
It was such a nice day and warm enough to feel a little piece of spring.

Nothing was planned on last Saturday, but I went to take a peak into the little kimono shop opened only for last weekend.

The venue was a glass art gallery, called G.GLASS.

I wore......

This antique kimono with fern leaves which look like feather.

and this casual obi in silver and gold to match the colors of fern leaves.

Collar and shoes in matching pink.

With a big ribbon on my back.

Purple leopard peaking from the obi.

Roccoya makes beautiful plain fabrics with woven pattern of damask in various colors.

mmmmm.......want!!!!

Also I've been so tempted by sexy kimono lingerie by Wafure.

Beauty sandwich♡
Thank you for letting me hang around for a long time!

Love the accent of cherry blossom pink :)
