::Purple Tint::

日本語ver. → こちら

After my favorite Japanese artist Hiromitsu Kato's passing, his family and friends started a project team to spread his beautiful art pieces with strong messages to the world.
From March 18th to 29th, they are having the exhibition at FEI Art Museum Yokohama, which he booked himself two years ago.
On last Friday, they had the opening ceremony for the guests who supported the exhibition and the publication of his first art books. My friend, Yukari, and I attended it to support the project team.

With Hiromitsu-san's wife, Tomoko-san, and Yukari.

There were some pieces that I'd never seen before.

The tools he used for his creation.

One of my favorites.

I visited his exhibitions in kimono a couple of times before.
We were supposed to be receptionists at the ceremony so I thought he'd happy to see us in kimono there.

Springy mimosa.

Closer look of the motif.

Checkered in silver and grey.
I tried not to add too many colors so that I won't be too flashy in front of the art pieces.

Collar in light pink.

Added some purple tints in the total look.

Yukari was in a beautiful Oshima kimono.
Matching perfectly with the lotuses.

I'm so thankful for all the supporters and the project team who made the exhibition and publication of art books happen.
It is almost one year since his passing, and I believe he's happy that his message has been delivered to whoever visited the exhibition through his family and friends.
I definitely want his art to be noticed a lot more throughout the world.
Please take a look at his beautiful works with strong messages when you have a chance★

::Cherry and Lime::

日本語ver. → こちら

My friend and I spent great time together at the beautiful home of the Japanese artist, Hiromitsu Kato.

With Hiromitsu san :)

Their lovely house has many of his art pieces.

Last month, I went to visit his exhibition wearing a kimono and his wife, Tomoko, invited me to their house to give her a small kimono pairing lesson.
The blog post about the exhibition is HERE

I should've chosen to wear something quiet for visiting somebody's house, but chose this flashy look for the lesson.

Bling bling☆

It was such a warm day.
The normal tabis (socks) were too thick to wear outside, so I wore lacy ones.

After looking through Tomoko's wardrobe and giving her my own original tips for kimono pairing, we helped her get dressed in one look that I picked.

It was so much fun looking at somebody else's kimono collection.

There is a beautiful tea space in their living room and the kimono look matched perfectly with it.

Yukari wore her mother's beautiful Shiro-Oshima :)

Tomoko's daughter made us some traditional green tea.

They also cooked dinner for us and we had so much fun talking and drinking some sake together.

Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Kato for the awesome day.
Hope to see you again soon!

::Oriental Flowers::

日本語ver. → こちら

After cherry blossom season in Tokyo, I still got a chance to see beautiful ones in full bloom in a small gallery in Omotesando last weekend.

Hiromitsu Kato, a friend of mine had his exhibition at Gallery Concept 21 for a week. I went to see it in kimono.

His signature style of art is these beautiful cherry blossoms.

Small petals painted with layers and different pigments made from crushed minerals.
It is always fascinating to see details of his painting.

I wanted to wear this kimono before the weather gets too warm for it.
My newest kimono I bought around the end of last year.

Pansies in reversed colors.

And I changed the inner collar to the right one with wild flowers printed in light lavender base.

I don't know which flower this is.... but I paired this one to match the color of the kimono.

Hairdo of the day.

He has one exhibition in every 6 months. Last time was in last October and I went to see it also. He knows I love kimono and he was there in kimono when I went to see him last time.
So in return, I wanted to show myself in kimono this time.

He and his wife were very happy to see my kimono look matches the atmosphere of his art. So she took some photos of me looking at them.

One of my dreams is to have one piece of his art hanging on the wall of my place.

I heard the theme of his art will be totally different at his next exhibition. So I'm so excited to see the new style of his creation.
