::Spring Denim::

日本語ver. → こちら

Had some nice photos taken by my friend a couple of weeks ago.
Luckily it was a nice warm day so I picked two spring looks from my closet this time.

Spring in Stilettos :)

Top :  Double Standard Clothing
Pants :  DIESEL
Heels :  Stuart Weitzman
Bag :  Saint Laurent

I got these beautiful metallic heels 3-4 years ago but never wore them since because I thought these may be the most suitable for formal occasions. But since I usually wear kimono when something formal comes up, so never got a chance!

It was pretty windy :)

Sac du Jour by Saint Laurent. My favorite purse!

Earrings from ROSE BUD.

This is the photo taken by the same friend last year. ↓

I was wearing my favorite Alice McCall crochet pants.

Checking after shooting with a glass of beer....

Look No. 2 will be up on next post!

Thank you for reading.

::Oshima::

日本語ver. → HERE

Sunday in my mother's kimono.
I was too lazy to get up early in the morning on that day but there is not much to do until 6 pm so I threw on one of my mother's beautiful kimonos after lunch.

The fabric of this kimono is called "Oshima-tsumugi"
Beautifully weaved fabric with pre-dyed threads, only made in Kagoshima Prefecture.
The fabric is really smooth and doesn't easily get wrinkled by wearing it.
Oshima tsumugi has been rare and so valuable because there are less and less artisans who will take over the traditional technique.

I always wanted to wear this Oshima for a long time but didn't know which obi to pair it with until I found this obi.

I wore this obi for the New Year's day this year.
Click HERE to jump to the whole article on this look.

I kept the collar white to look simple this time.

It was my first time to wear a Oshima kimono and I found out that it is so light and very easy for me to walk in it.

A pair of zouris I ordered last year.
I love these thongs in spacey colors.

I heard they were having the plum blossom festival in the park which is about 30 mins away from my place so I jumped on a train and went to see the plum blossoms.
And yeah.... as you can see, I forgot to take photos of them. There were actually so many beautiful plum trees in the park. I don't know why I took just this picture with naked trees. LOL

There was a little flower market inside the park.

It's already March and spring is almost here.
Need to plan sakura viewings for this year!

::Bamboo Lunch::

Last weekend, we drove around in Chiba prefecture which is next to Tokyo.
He suggested having bamboo shoot lunch at a restaurant located in bamboo forest.
Takenoko (Japanese word for bamboo shoot) is famous around this area.

Stewed dish and baked fish.

Simply baked takenoko with miso sauce.

Fresh takenoko.

Vegetable tempura and deep fried takenoko.
I couldn't help having some beer with them :)

Seasoned rice with takenoko.

Takenoko is in season now, and everything was so good!

A view from seats inside the restaurant.

On the way home, we dropped by a place called "German Village".
Moss pink was in full bloom there.

The weather wasn't so nice on that day...
So we didn't get to sit there and enjoy the scenery so much.
But it was a nice way to feel the beginning of spring.

Another post about this day will follow next :)

Thank you for reading.

::Sakura Scenery:: Ueno Park + Meguro River

About a week from last weekend has been great time for sakura viewing.
I had a little sakura viewing tour in kimono to Ueno park and Meguro river
which are famous for beautiful scenery of cherry blossoms in Tokyo.

Ueno park was so busy with so many people who came to see Somei-Yoshino.
There is no wonder, because you can see 1,000 of these beautiful cherry blossom trees here.

People having Ohanami (sakura viewing) parties :)

Me walking through the crowd.

It was such a hot day! Why not have a beer under sakura trees???

Just after 15 mins drive from Ueno park,
we arrived at Meguro river to see about 800 cherry trees in full bloom.

This river used to be a lot narrower than it is now,
and it was causing the river to overflow.
So they did a construction to widen it.
To celebrate completing the construction, they planted these cherry trees along the river.

They also have lanterns on and trees lit up at night.
The scenery is just breathtakingly beautiful.

Love this view!

We also went to Chidori-gasaki and Yasukuni shrine on the other day.
The post about it will follow soon :)

Hope you all have a chance to see beautiful views like this!

Thank you for reading.
