HAPPY NEW YEAR★Hope your 2017 will be amazing and full of love♡

I spent my New Year holiday at my parents house for 5 days. 

The weather in my hometown was beautiful during my stay. 

My friends who are also from my hometown gave me a ride from Tokyo. Thanks!

No need to say but... they conquer you with this cuteness.

On New Year's eve, I helped my mother cook Japanese traditional New Year dish "Osechi"(Wiki).

Steamed chicken rolls. 

Simmered veggies and fish cakes. (Nishime)

Candied dried sardines. (Tatsukuri)

Each dish has a meaning, such as staying healthy, good harvest, happiness etc.... 

My mother is a good cook and make beautiful Osechi like this every year. 

Everything goes well with sake. We love having some sparkling sake on New Year's day.

After celebrating the New Year with Osechi for breakfast, we visited the shrine to send some greetings.

My mother and I also climbed up the hill behind our house to visit the small shrine that she always visits every month.

This place used to be my playground for years when I was younger. 

And it was my second time to spend the New Year's day in kimono.

A Happy New Year 2016!

Hope all of you had a wonderful moment welcoming the New Year in.

I spent four nights at my parents house in a super relaxed mood. 

Here is how my lazy New Years went.

I wore my mother's kimono for the first day of 2016.

I will come back to the total look on the next post.

In Japan, we send New Year greeting cards to each other instead of Christmas cards. But the tradition seems to be dying out due to the development of other communication tools.

So I just made this greeting photo instead :)

Hatsu-moude, the first visit to a shrine in the year.

This shrine is the one my family visits for every special occasion.

Every time I spend the New Years at my parents house, all I do is eating and drinking!

On Jan. 2nd, my parents and I went to the cafe which has been there as it is now from the time when they were in University.

The warm atmosphere was so comforting and I was happy to see a little piece of their history that's left there.

"IMBUKO" means "admiration".

It was so delicious!!

And one thing that I love about spending time at home is that I get to play with these little monsters.

She's always upset for being chased by Lucky who just wants to play with her.

It was nice spending lazy days with my family.

My mother and I had a great day on the last day of my stay in hometown.

Nagano has many places you can enjoy hot spring.

We drove over to Akane-juku before lunch.

It seemed like everyone just checked out from this hotel. 

There were just a few people at the lobby.

They have many pieces of antique furniture. 

I enjoyed just looking at them.

The view from the open-air bath was beautiful!

There were nobody but us. 

We had such a great time enjoying our private open-air bath.

After having a delicious soba noodle lunch,

my mother took me to a very nice cafe in the woods.

It was such a beautiful sunny day, we took our seats at their terrace.

Their coffee had nice aroma.

We had a luxurious time hearing tweets of birds without any background music.

It is one of the things we can't do in busy cities like Tokyo.

Green and fresh air :)

I just love my home with rich nature.
