Shopping is the best therapy for every girl, don't you think?

Well, I KNOW that it is not a good excuse for a crazy fashion haul. In addition to winter sales, there were some shopping events of modern kimono to go to this month, so I just couldn't miss the chance.

So here is my shopping diary of this month.

Long deep brown gloves and a clip. 

When I wear a kimono, there is no pockets to keep my hands warm. On a windy day, cold air comes into my kimono sleeves so these are the must-have for all kimono girls.

I wore them on the day of my family New Year luncheon.

Actually I lost another pair of cute gloves in last winter only a couple of weeks after I bought them. Not to let that happen again, I got this clip this time.

And I also found really cheap short gloves (about 10 USD!) in navy blue at NEXT

Forever 21 makes nice ear jackets! 

I also love the price! They were about 5 bucks.

Roccoya had a limited time store opened for a couple of weeks at Laforet Harajuku.

They released a new Obiage series called "Dizzy".
I chose this lime-green color.

Yep, looking at this closely makes me dizzy...

Also got a haneri (kimono collar).

Another modern kimono shop which was opened for only a week.

It was full of beautiful things created by my favorite designers.

Butterflies and flowers.

Yep!!! I wanted them so bad!!!! But I pushed that urge back....

Too many beautiful things that hit the spot!!

One little thing I got on the first day was this head dress.

Can't wait to wear it!

My kimono friend and I went to the shop on the other day and I tried on butterfly kimonos in two different colors.

In black.

and in white!

I like the white one better and I look awesome in it! lol

Okay so there is no end to girls' materialistic desires. It has to end now.

So I dropped the kimono and got these obis instead.

::Another Decade::

3 DECADES.

I am truly thankful for all the people I've met and events that I went through in my life.

And most of all, I feel like I am the luckiest to have such great parents who have been my parents for 30 years.

Although I wasn't planning anything special for my birthday, 

I felt so blessed with all the birthday wishes and surprises I received from my friends.

Thank you all so much for being a part of my life :)

Do you mind if I brag a bit about the things I got??? 

The surprise dessert :)

Lovely gifts from my mother and friends.

They all know I'm a little alcoholic.

Beautiful ring from my bestie :)

Brand new silver headband that became my most favorite hair accessory :)

She told me "silver" is a lucky-color for next year! 

And I spent last weekend in my hometown to get my mind refreshed

and..... to see this little one!!!!!

.Tada!!! Meawwwww :)

He's only 3 and a half months old. 

I was dying to see him before he becomes full-grown.

He's sooooooo adorable and my camera roll was full of him when I came back to Tokyo.

He plays with full energy and sleeps like an angel.

My mother made an amazing cake.

and my friends and I shared it together.

It was so good that I couldn't help having almost 3 pieces.

It was such an amazing week.

My 20's was for searching for my passion, my dreams, and the way to accept and love my own life.

My 4th decade will be for making best shots to make my dreams come true and doing whatever I can do for my family and friends around me.

And yes, more and more passion for kimono and Japanese spirit that I have in my soul.

New accessories for this summer :)

Here are some earrings and hair accessories I got recently.

And ball earrings I got for only 300 yen / pair!

Hair clips! I'm into stars and starfishes recently. 

Can't wait to use them for a beachy hair style.

::Jewelry Making::

 

Last weekend, I went for material hunt in Asakusa-bashi area

for creating original accessories.

Buying finished products at stores is much easier but more expensive,

and making my own ones can be much more fun.

I lost track of time while looking for parts out of so many selections.

Feather to metal parts I got this day.

Feather, lemon stone, and lapis for....

Hair accessory.

By switching the end,

it becomes the decorative accessory for kimono, called "Netsuke".

I also made earrings with lapis and black tassels.

I love the color of lapis.

I though of using imitated ones for low cost,

but the color of natural ones is more deep and mysterious.

It wasn't so difficult than I thought.

When you can't find any with designs that you like,

making your own is one good solution. :))
