::Sweet Picking::

Strawberries are in season!
We went to Tochigi which is famous for their brand of strawberries, Tochi-Otome.

They are also growing their own brand, Tochi-Hime, which is bigger than Tochi-Otome.
We picked them this time.

Inside of the plastic greenhouse was really warm and nice.

They were big and sweeeeeet :))

I ate about 20 of them this day!
Usually these places are open for strawberry picking until around the end of Feb.
This has been our yearly event after New Year.

The city in Tochigi, Sano, is famous for Sano ramen.
We had this for late lunch on the way back home.

I love Tochigi with all the tasty foods and hotsprings!

Thank you for reading.

::Vitamin Colors::

This summer has been really hot and humid in Tokyo.
I try not to drink or eat anything cold to keep my metabolism high,
but summer heat makes me want to cool myself down from inside.

The temperature hit 35 degrees C last weekend.
It felt too hot even when walking in shadows.
I couldn't refuse going in my favorite smoothie place in Omotesando.

I always like these decorations in their little space.

I tried "Pink Floyd" smoothie this time.
Mango, Papaya, Pineapple, Guava, Grape, Peach and Mint!
I love it ;)

having tropical drink in tropical dress.

Fruit is good when you don't have much appetite to eat anything.
Peach is high in season.

My best friend got me fruit nail color :)

Chanel nail color: 621 Tutti Frutti

Reminds me of watermelon :)
It must look great on pedis as well.

Are you having colorful summer?

Thank you for reading.

::Yukata Weekend:: Saturday

日本語ver. HERE

Last weekend was really hot around 40 degrees C in Tokyo.
In this season, we see a lot of girls wearing Yukata,
very casual Kimono worn only in summer.
I wore mine for one of the biggest fireworks event in Tokyo last Saturday.

Yukata was worn for bathing a long time ago.
Now that many colors and patterns are available,
we can enjoy Japanese traditional fashion with your own taste.
And it is much easier to wear than formal kimono.

This day, I wore a red Obi (waist belt) with my favorite yukata.

Hairdo :)

American lunch in Japanese fashion :))

No need to say.... I was the only one in yukata @ this restaurant.
Obi was squeezing my stomach so tightly that I couldn't finish my burger.

If you know Japanese animation Doraemon, you know what this is...

Walking in summer heat was very tiring.
Time to take a break :)

Berry smoothie & acai bowl.

The newest Gozilla movie is in theaters now.
There is a huge Gozilla behind The Ritz Carlton hotel in Roppongi.
So many people were taking photos in front of him on weekends.

The fireworks was amazing
but I forgot to take photos.

It was nice to see people having parties everywhere.
It made me feel like the summer is finally here.

Thank you for reading.

::Hot Summer After a Storm::

At the beginning of this month, the biggest storm in past 50 years hit us.
The weather during this rainy season is unpredictable.
It irritates me before leaving home
because I have to choose a pair of shoes which can survive a unexpected heavy rain.

The storm passed Tokyo during a night
and the weather was so great that it made me feel like summer is here.

Why not spending a day off outside in this nice weather?
We drove to Ueno park this time.

A little shrine in the park.

They have a large pond full of lotus leaves.
It seemed like flowers were not in bloom yet,
but I saw a lot of these buds which look like peaches.  :)

You can't even see water inside the pond.
It looks like there is a huge farm in the middle of concrete city.

It was such a hot day.
I couldn't help craving for some cold beer.

This raspberry beer was interesting.....(I prefer normal beer...)

"Anmitsu", Japanese parfait with red beans.

Got some frensh fruits from the market close to the park.
I LOVE fruitfull summer.

This mangosteen was my first!
It kind of tastes like lychee, I think.
Peaches were sweet like heaven :)

Thank you for reading

::my Tasty Life::

I assume everybody who read my blog (Thank you!) knows
I love food soooooo much!
Here is my random food diary of these days.

After work, I planned to watch a movie in a theater,
so dinner must be done in about 45 mins.
Japanese dish "Oden" is the best fast (and healthy) food for such occasion.

Oden with beer.... I just love it!

And another weekend, my friend invited me to his home warming party.
It was so much fun :))

He is an amazing cook and made all of this for us.
Felt like I was at a nice Italian restaurant.

Capellini with raw ham.

Roasted pork.
Everything was so good that I couldn't stop eating and drinking....

Then another Friday night at a bar I found close to my place.

It's been a while since I came to a calm and mature place like this.
We had a nice chat with tasty appetizers and champagne.

Have you ever heard of Japanese cherry called "Sato-Nishiki"?
It is just in season now.

Japanese cherries tend to be very sour and not so sweet...
but this Sato-Nishiki was the sweetest that I've ever had.
Hope to have them again before it is out of season.
