The last weekend was the last chance to see sakura blossoms in Tokyo this year.

Most of cherry blossoms in Tokyo bloom at the same time and flowers fall down very quickly in like a week or two.

Here are the cherry blossoms I got to see this year.

March 31st at Yasukuni Shrine and Chidorigafuchi.

Yasukuni Shrine is a very fun place to visit during cherry blossom season because there are so many food stalls to get some nice food.

We had wonderful dinner time!

My friends and I had a huge cherry blossom party at Yoyogi park on April 2nd, but the party was soooo fun that I forgot to take photos of blossoms...... So yeah, let's skip it.....

On the next day, April 3rd, CHII and I went to the Meguro river, one of the most famous and popular place in Tokyo for cherry blossom viewing.

It was soooo crowded with so many people who came to see the beautiful sakura.

Last year, I came here at night and it was so beautiful as well.

The variety of most of cherry blossom trees in Tokyo is called Somei Yoshino. This is why the sakura season in Tokyo lasts only about a week. They bloom and fall all at once.

Last weekend, my friend came over to Tokyo from Kyoto.

It was a little bit too late for Somei Yoshino but we got to see few other variety of sakura still in bloom in Hamarikyu.

I love the flowery season we have in Japan.

It makes me wanna step out and dance♪

Nikko Toshogu Shrine in Tochigi prefecture is one of the most famous shrines in Japan. The reason is that some of Ieyasu Tokugawa's ashes is buried here. He is the first "shogun" who founded the government of Edo era in 1600. "Shogun" literally means "a general" and practically ruled the country in place of the emperor.

It seems like the buildings there have huge influence of Chinese culture. 

One of the buildings has this famous relief sculpture called "San-Saru" which means three monkeys. The origin of these "three wise monkeys" is said to be the ancient Egypt or Cambodia. Every monkey is closing his ears or eyes or mouth. It means it is wise to hear / see / speak no evil. 

The shrine is surrounded by many huge trees that are about 400-800 years old.

After passing a little gate behind the main shrine, you will see more than 200 stairs in the woods.

After going up all the steps, there is Ieyasu's grave.

Though I have no photo of it because I thought it might be inappropriate.

After having a nice lunch break.... we dropped by to see the huge waterfall called "Kegonnotaki".

It looks much smaller in photos than it is in real. But actually the water is falling from the altitude of  97 meters from the bottom.

The weather was not really good on that day so it was sooooo cold down there.
It might be much better to visit here in summer. It would make you forget the summer heat.

::FUJI::

Have you seen such a gorgeous view with full of FUJI????

On the first day of Golden Week, we got up super early in the morning and headed to Ashikaga Flower Park in Tochigi prefecture. 

The park is so famous now for beautiful fuji (= Japanese word for wisteria)

When we got there around 10 am, there were already many people at the entrance waiting in line in front of the ticket counter. Seemed like a lot of foreigners were there too.

Once I stepped into the park, it was just breathtaking! 

It was in full bloom!! I'd never seen such beautiful fuji.

Not only fuji, they have so many different flowers.

White wisteria had the sweetest scent and so many bees were trying to collect the honey.

the whole entire park was so beautiful and raised my spirit!

And this is what all of us go there to see.

I was so amazed by the fact that all of this is spreading from only one tree.

It was so worth waking up at 4:30 am! 

They also have roses in the park and the buds seemed like they cannot wait to bloom.

The whole park is lit in various colors at night and their Christmas lights are very famous as well.

I truly wanna visit there again sometime this year.
