::Oregon Coast::

日本語ver. → こちら

On the following day after the wedding, my host father and mother drove me to Oregon Coast♡
I didn't realize there are some great surfing points on Oregon coast but I didn't even wanna think about going in because of the super cold water. You need a full wet suit to surf there even in September.

After about 2 hours of drive, here we are!
I think it has been more than 10 years since I went there last. My friends from college took me there before I left after graduation.

The coast area was pretty busy with lots of people who came to see the classic car show that they had on the weekend.

I don't know much about classic cars but some of them were really cute♡

Saxophone player at the beach :D

For late lunch, we had some good sea food :D
It was around 2 or 3 pm so there were nobody when we were there.

Fish and chips with stella♡
Coleslaw had kale in it :)

And after, we drove a little bit more to Canon Beach.

The wind was pretty cold already and people were wearing jackets.
I don't remember seeing the famous rock before but yeah, finally saw it this time.

The sands felt so much finer than them in Shonan area in Japan.
I was running around the beach on barefoot.

On the way back to the car, Dad and I went in a local ice cream shop♡
This huckleberry one was so delicious. Wish we had huckleberries in Japan.
And Dad is a big fan of chocolate.

And on the way home, we drove along the coast to see this view♡

Woahhhh....
The wind became really chilly but it made the air so clear.

What a beautiful sunset.
We could just keep watching it until the sun was gone.

During this trip, I had more time to spend with my family and friends than my last trip.
It was nice to see how much the town has changed since I left.

One day, we went to their favorite french place for breakfast.

Yumyum....

I even got time to spend some time with cute little monsters.

Molly, the worrying dog.
I took her for a walk in the morning and she always looks back to make sure I'm with her. So cute...haha

And they have a beautiful black cat in their backyard.

She's named after Bagheera from Jungle Book cause she's so big that she can chase and eat Molly.

I had American dinner (pizza and beer, of course) with the family and played dominos on my last day.

It was so much fun :D

I miss them already and wanna go back there soon♡

Thank you for reading!

::Beach Weekend::

日本語ver. → こちら

HAPPY BEACH WEEKEND in Kanagawa.

Hydrangea is in full bloom before the rainy season is over.
We haven't got many heavy rains or storms this year so it doesn't feel like we are in the rainy season. But the temperature is obviously hot enough to feel summer is here.

Last Saturday, I got up around 5am and headed to Kugenuma beach for a surf lesson.
Until last spring, I was far from beach people but I met a great friend who is (was?) a professional surfer last summer and started taking lessons from him since.

Surf day is my "no-make up" day.

My surf wardrobe :)

The weather was warm enough not to wear a wet suit. The water was warm and the sun came out of the clouds during the lesson. It felt sooooo good.
It was my 4th lesson this summer and my friend says I'm making progress!! Woo hooo :)
My goal for this summer is to be able to catch a (little) wave without my friend's help.

Next day, I happened to have lunch with my friend who lives in Chigasaki, a little east from the Kugenuma beach. So yeah.... 1 hour train trip again.
My friend made a reservation at the beautiful Italian restaurant where the local beers are served.

Love the atmosphere of their entrance.

Shonan Beer.

Everything was delicious and felt like I was somewhere in Karuizawa.

Weizen.
Light taste with a little bitterness.

After yummy chatty lunch with my friend and her little cute boy, I took a walk to the Chigasaki beach.

It was about 30 min walk from the station.

I saw many surf families on the beach.

Little cute surfer :)
She didn't move from there for a while though.... lol

It was my first time to go to Chigasaki beach and the ocean looked so much different from the beach where I always take surf lessons.

What a refreshing weekend :)
I have so many summery events ahead this month!
Camping, Pool, BBQ, Surf, and Baseball games!

I'm so excited :)

Thank you for reading.
